FE ENGEL shares its wisdom at the Heath and Safety show
Eighty years of experience can bring you a lot of things; wisdom, knowledge and trust. These are three things which the Danish company FE. ENGEL know plenty about after it began manufacturing in workwear in 1927 and has since developed and spread its wings to become the second largest manufacturer in Europe.
The company specialises in workwear and are well known throughout Europe for their hard-wearing and cutting edge designs including jackets that are fire-retardant and consist of fabrics that will withstand the most extreme conditions.
New products at Birmingham
The company plan to exhibit at the Health and Safety exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham in May where they will be displaying their latest developments. Among the garments FE. ENGEL will be showcasing will be safety trousers made from the material recently developed for the MoD and Police force. The material has been designed to be needle and knife resistant, a necessity for the forces and police due to the dangerous situations they are placed in.
The ‘Ballistic’ trousers have been developed by FE. ENGEL and are planned for use by sanitary and refuse collectors who may come into contact with sharp and dangerous objects on a daily basis.
The company are known for their jackets, which have the latest technology to ensure optimum performance when it is needed. FE. ENGEL recently developed a ‘Workzone’jacket with temperature regulating crystals in which melt when hot to help cool the wearer down and then crystallise again when cold to insulate the body.
Bracing the elements
The company’s popular wind resistant fleece will also be on show for visitors to see at the exhibition. Its added lining gives the comfort of a fleece jacket but with a wind resistant layer to give added warmth when you need it for working outdoors. The jacket also has reinforced shoulders and elbows to ensure that the fleece jacket is highly durable for the working environment.
All the ‘Workzone’ knee-padded trousers (by ENGEL) products are reinforced with a special ‘Cordura’ material. This ensures that a pair of trousers with reinforced knees will outlast a normal pair of trousers by approximately five times.
FE ENGEL’s UK branch is in Milton Keynes, Chris Hvass at the offices believes it is the company’s attention to detail which has resulted in their longevity and success, “Consistency in quality and fit are important to FE. ENGEL because these factors are essential to our customers.”
“To ensure that all the garments we produce leave our factories meeting the same high standards, all of the cutting is done at the same place in Denmark and they are then all checked in the same location so all garments can be compared and there is minimal risk of size variations or faulty items reaching a customer.”
